I love having long hair, there are so many options to style it, do an up do or a down do. It’s been a year since I’ve had the chance to cut my hair. Being so busy just doesn’t present the opportunity for me to maintain this beauty regime often. With my hair so long, I would find myself pulling it back often, but with the amount of hair, and the weight, it started to give me headaches.. So instead, I’ve recently rediscovered the side braid.
It’s simple, it’s fast, adds to my finished styled look and it’s been my go to hair especially on vacation these past two weeks. I’ve yet to try out different types of braid, there are so many creative ones out there, but for now, I just stick to the basic one every girl learns while growing up.
When traveling you would want something easy and low maintenance; this look delivers just that. Nobody has time to worry about what to do with their hair on vacation, instead, use this quick and stylish hairdo to get your out that door and enjoy the time spent outside exploring!
Xoxo from Hawaii!
With the rotation of my wardrobe comes a rotation of my beauty vanity. The winter months brings out my dry patches so it’s important to keep my skin hydrated and nourished. These are a few of my favorites that I’m using right now. I love Origins products for its delicate and effective results for my skin. This cleansing oil is my favorite to remove any residue and makeup from the day, leaving my skin soft and clean with a spa like scent to make it even better.
I like to apply the overnight mask once a week. It’s like overnight magic where my skin feels soft, hydrated and well rested. It’s one of my favorite overnight mask to help me through the cold dry days. This scent by Marc Jacobs isn’t a new one, but I like to wear it during winter because of it’s bold and rich gardenia scent, reminding me of the holiday season.
Finally, this Foreo device is something I just recently purchased and have loved so far. It’s a cleansing device that I feel has peeled away a layer of dead skin, leaving it shiny and bright. Taking care of my skin is important to me to maintain and keep me looking and feeling healthy.

When Cheeky Physique reached out to me to sample their Sublime lips product, I was excited because of the ingredients I saw and the instant lip plumper effect. This lip plumper includes my most loved all natural beauty ingredient, Manuka Honey. Manuka Honey produced by bees that are packed with antioxidants, making it a great product for hydrating and nourishing. I regularly use this on my face, and love the results so I was excited that there existed a product for my lips that would also plump them as well.
The product has a nice scent, glides on seamlessly and upon application has a tingling sensation. There is no color to the gloss, making it a great application to enhance your natural looking lips.
While I love the ingredients and the feel of the product on my lips, I can’t say that I saw a huge difference in the plumping of my lips. I could definitely feel something working upon application, but I was not blown away at how they looked after. I’m not really looking to enhance my lips for a fuller look anyways so this was not a huge disappointment for me.
I think this product is great as an everyday gloss, keeps my lips hydrated and nourished. Perhaps with many more uses I will start to see a difference. For the ingredients alone, I will continue to use this as a gloss alone or over my favorite lip color.
Sometimes we get in a rut with our hair styles. Today, I’m sharing with you my 3 easy step Bohemian braid look. It’s so easy that you could prepare and finish this look in 15 minutes or less.
First, we prep the hair. I usually like to do this look on 2 day old hair, meaning I didn’t just wash it. Though, if I do happen to wash my hair right before, I like to use a big of Dry Shampoo to give me the texture I’m looking for.
Next we braid the hair. For this look I section a small part on each side and braid. I secure the ends with some hair ties, then about ¾’s way down I pin the braid against my head, leaving the side to be tucked in under my hair.
You can leave it how it is, or you can add and style the rest of your hair as you see fit. This time I decided to give my hair some extra volume, so I passed my curling iron through a few strands to give my hair the bounce and shine that I desire.
This look is so simple and easy that anyone can do it. So the next time you feel like you wear the same hair style everyday, change it up and add a few braids to your look, it’ll be a nice change that's fast, simple and stylish.

Continuing my Erno Laszlo ritual now thanks to Influenster, I’m able to keep my skin nourished and hydrated during these winter months. My face is now prepped for these cooler dryer days. I believe having a routine, and using products that work for your skin are key.
The cleansing Power of 2 ritual includes a cleansing oil and soap bar. This double action cleanse is meant to break down the impurities, attacking them double strong. I’ve enjoyed this process. The oil breaks down all the residue I had on my face from the day, then the lathering of the soap makes me feel extra cleansed. You feel like you’ve attacked all that you can with good for you ingredients such as Antioxidant-rich rose extract, sunflower oil, and macadamia oil. Try this product out for yourself!
Have you ever wanted to apply your beloved lipstick but for some reason now, it won’t glide on as easily, producing a dry and flaky lip? Well it’s probably because your lips need a little extra TLC, especially during the winter months. Here is a home DIY lip mask I use especially leading up to the day I know I’m going to wear a bold lip for an upcoming event or look.
Here are the ingredients:
¼ teaspoon raw honey
½ teaspoon virgin coconut oil
½ teaspoon brown sugar
3 drops rose oil (optional)
I place these ingredients in a bowl and mix together until incorporated. This portion is good for 10 uses! A little goes a long way! Bottle up your remaining mixture into a sealed tight container and store in a cool dry place.
Upon rubbing the mask into your lip, you’ll start to feel the mixture melt and saturate into your lips, so don’t apply too much at one time. I leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes then wipe off with a damp cloth. Your lips will feel soft, exfoliated and rejuvenated. I like to finish off with applying my favorite lip balm. If handling a DIY is not your cup of tea, the sugar lip mask from Fresh is my favorite lip mask. It’s a thicker texture than the one I make, and the smell of it is just so delicious!
Don't let the winter days keep you from wearing your favorite lip color. Give you lips the pampering it needs. Both masks have the same results for me, producing soft ready to wear lips for those long lipstick days ahead.
When my days are chaotic in the morning I sometimes don’t have the time to do my hair. In comes my straightener to the rescue. It’s a quick and easy way to get a sleek, put together shine into your look. There’s something about flat ironing your hair, which makes it look so much more neat and clean. Wearing you hair straight is great for Fall looks, keeping your hair frizzes tamed and polished for those windy days. I’ve been currently using the GHD straightener, which not only straightens my hair very quickly, but also gives it a nice shine and glow to my hair.
So the next time you’re looking for something more to do with your hair reach for that straightener for that salon finish look. Simplicity doesn’t have to be boring, it just has to be done right.
From cleansing oil to moisturizing oils, I’m sharing with you my top picks that I’m loving at the moment. I’ve been using this Origins cleansing oil to remove all my makeup from the day. It works well, takes everything off easily and smells like you’re in a spa. I switched to cleansing oil about 6 months ago and love this way of removing all the dirt from my face. I would definitely turn to this option if you want to get rid of your makeup easily and also keeps the skin hydrated and moisturized. I just recently started using the Erno Laszlo 2 step cleansing oil routine and have enjoyed it so far. This routine doesn’t get rid of all the makeup on my face, so make sure to rid of all the dirt beforehand.
I’ve tried a few face oils, and some have failed my expectations, but these two have worked for my skin. The Korres Wild Rose Brightening oil has a wonderful rose scent that I love so much. I usually apply a few drops after cleansing my face. I just recently purchased the Sunday Riley UFO oil and like it so far. A little goes a long way. This oil contains 1.5 percent salicylic acid, which can help clearing any clogged up pores you may have. So don’t let you skin suffer this upcoming winter season. If you suffer from dry patches of skin, try a moisturizing face oils, it’ll be sure to keep your skin hydrated and soft!
After receiving 5 subscriptions box each month of the Sephora Play box, I’ve decided to cancel my subscription. This subscription box is $10 per month and includes 4-5 deluxe samples of the best products out there. If you’re new to my blog you’ll quickly find out that I am a beauty lover and a fan of subscription box. For a reasonable price, I like to try boxes that are current, trendy, and give me products that I’ve never tried before. Here are my pros and cons on the Sephora Play box:
Final thoughts: I think this subscription box is well priced for it’s value. It no longer fitted my lifestyle and needs. I noticed that I had already owned or have owned the full sized product, thus making the box not a surprise or exciting. I found the sample sizes to be perfect for travel. If you are an avid beauty shopper and like to try a lot of different products from different brands already, this subscription box may not be for you. If you are looking to broaden your beauty knowledge and want an easy affordable way to try new products then this might fit just right for you. I enjoyed my subscription while it lasted, but it’s time to move on. Off to find the next great box!

Keeping my skin nourished and hydrated are important in keeping my skin looking fresh especially during the winter months. I believe having a routine, and using products that work for your skin are key. I am exited to try the Erno Laszlo Hydra-therapy collection thanks to Preen.me. The leader in celebrity skincare since 1927, this line has nourished the faces of Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Jacqueline Kennedy and Kim Kardashian. Theses product have been loved and cherished by so many celebrity faces that I knew there had to be something special about their products.
My face is now prepped, cleansed and ready to soak up any toner, serum or moisturizer.
Perhaps the most famous and popular product from this line is the Hydra Therapy sleep mask. This overnight mask was quite different for me as it was a gel like consistency. The scent is quite nice, making it pleasant as an overnight mask. Once I finished my cleansing routine, I would apply this mask onto my face and leave it on overnight. In the morning I would wash my face feeling the magic of the mask creating a hydrating fresh sensation.
I will admitting recognize that the price point for these products are quite high, and are quite the investment. I also was not a fan of the packaging. I don’t like product where I have to pour out or dig into. I much prefer a pump and pre measure amounts of products ready to be used. If you can look past these things, and are looking for a ritual that will set your skin up for the upcoming winter months then this is a must! I would highly recommend these products as I’ve loved the process so far and plan on continuing to use them!
