It’s not often that my husband and I get to have a date night alone. This outfit is simple and one of my favorites when we do get a chance. Lace is one of my favorite materials. Something about it makes me feel girly, elegant, and classy. I sometimes get nervous reaching for an all lace dress since I feel as if it can look too overdressed and formal for a seemingly casual dinner date with my husband. Finding a lace top such as this one gives me just the right amount of lace, making me feel comfortable and ready for night out on the town. I love the different texture block, it gives the top some nice detail, making it interesting and different.
The peplum style makes it bouncy and fun, moving swiftly when walking. Pairing the off white cream lace with dark skinny jeans is the perfect match for a nighttime look. I kept it simple and went with classic black pumps (though the red soles give it a pop, which I love).
When choosing to accessorize this kind of look, I like to keep things simple, keeping it from looking too busy. A small handbag/clutch is all you need for a date night (this is your chance to not lug along all those "other" necessities!! Leave that huge bag at home).
Finding an outfit that is no fuss and makes you feel good will leave you to enjoy the night with your spouse, which is what it’s all about. Stepping out of your everyday wear and bringing in a little bit of lace will make the date feel new and exciting even if it is a casual dinner at your favorite local joint. The night is yours especially when they are far and few, so why not have fun with it? Leave me a comment! What's your favorite go to date look?

Mixing jewelry metals seems somewhat wrong, I know. I was once a believer that to look good meant you have to have matching accessories, meaning if you had a gold watch, all your jewelry should be gold. Well, I’ve discovered a way to mix my jewelry up and making the mixed metals look work. There’s one key word you have to remember here, delicate. Finding delicate pieces to mix not only works, but can change the look of your outfit. No longer are the efforts in trying to gather all you silver jewelry to wear in one outfit. Instead, choosing the right piece to mix and match will not only change the dynamic of your look, but also allow you to wear your desired pieces without putting them to the side because it doesn’t match.
Adding delicate jewelry pieces to your collection is a great investment. Look for pieces that are dainty, small, using thin chains, and keep things simple. Sometimes the best jewelry pieces that people notice are the smallest ones. Mixing high end with low budget pieces is something I do almost daily. The heart cuff seen in the pictures is a relatively low priced piece found at a boutique store, paired with a dainty 5 diamond silver chain bracelet from Tiffany’s. Playing around and mixing jewelry should be a fun. Jewelry are accessory pieces that are meant to accent you and your outfit. You should wear your jewelry pieces, not the other way around. Choosing delicate pieces give the perfect amount of ‘accessorizing’ an outfit. Keep things simple and classic, giving you many options to mix it up when you feel like it.

I’m not a person who has many bright colored handbags. I usually stick to black or a neutral color, making it easy to match with any outfit I have. For some reason I recently had the urge to add a red handbag to my collection. I would think about how it would fit into my wardrobe and if it would be practical. Luckily, I was gifted my first red handbag this past Christmas (thanks mom!) and I couldn’t be more in love. This Saint Laurent WOC (wallet on a chain) is gorgeous in everyway! Its bright bold red is the perfect hue, making it an eye-catching showstopper. Made in grained calfskin, the chevron print gives it a modern edge, while keeping it classic with its gold hardware. It has a removable chain strap, which makes it easy to go from a cross body bag for daytime, into a clutch for night. Inside includes 6-card slot, two bill slots and one zippered compartment.
While it’s not a large handbag with a lot of space, it can definitely hold the essentials, which for me includes my Credit cards/ID, car key, phone and lip gloss. It’s a great on the go bag giving me the ability to be hands free, with no hassle or worry. While I was hesitant at first about how to match it to my outfits, its been rather easy and fun. In a way, the pop of red wakes up my outfit and makes me feel stylish and sophisticated at the same time. This was a great addition to my handbag collection, and who knows, it may be the first of more red handbags to come! Stay tuned :)
