Dressing up for any occasion is always fun for me. I’ll admit I’m one to alter what I wear depending on if I have my kids with me or not. Let’s be honest, having kids pull and tug and wiping their hands all over a $100 dress is not why I bought it. So instead, I leave those for special occasions. What better excuse to wear a cute dress than a girl’s trip to Napa! I knew I had the perfect dress for the occasion and couldn’t wait to style it.
This dress for Banana Republic can be day or nighttime appropriate. I knew I wanted to dress it down for the day activities, so I paired with my distressed denim vest, giving it a less formal look. Knowing that we would be walking around all day, I decided to wear my blue strappy sandals. I want to be comfortable, to explore the wineries around me, so I opted not to wear heels (although this look would look so cute with a pair of wedges). This time comfort won over style! Still I feel as if these sandals were stylish with the electric royal blue, making it different that any regular black pair.
With the sun shinning bright and a day full of wine tasting I knew I wanted to add my hat to the look. I love this rag and bone fedora hat; the look, the feel and fit are so stylish. Adding a hat to any look changes the whole outfit. In this case, the hat had both comfort and function, fitting suit perfectly for the occasion. I knew I would want a long strap cross body handbag to keep my hands free and able to hold the wine glass, or two when possible, lol! Complimenting the blue hues I had going on with my outfit, my Celine Nano fit the look just right, giving me a fashionably stylish look.
When dressing for any occasion, remember to think ahead at how and if what you are wearing will affect that day’s event. I was in love with this look and felt comfortable all day. It was the perfect outfit for a day with the girls, sipping on wine and looking stylish all at the same time!
