Summer time means short season! Turn up your short game by adding some prints in the mix. I found these pair from Banana Republic and picked it especially for the print. I’m not a print kind of gal, my shorts collection consist of the same hue of blues, blacks and denim for days. I noticed the trend of printed shorts while browsing the stores and decided to have a go at it! It’s something different and out of my comfort zone, but it’s also a nice change. Sometimes taking the risk can get you out of a rut and revamp your look.
I’m not always one to give in to all the trends, there’s just simple too many to keep up with. When I do, I make sure that it is something that I like and I’m not just doing it because other people are doing it. Remember two key things when trying new trends: Comfort and usage.
Comfort simple implies if you will be comfortable wearing the item. For instance, I’ve always been drawn to leopard prints. It looks so cute on others, but I know that I would not be comfortable wearing anything with that print. I would always be self-conscious and worried about how I looked. While I think that trend is cute, it simply is not for me. Usage, this simply means getting the most out of the item. If you think the item you are looking at is only seasonal and can only be used for a short amount of time, then to me it’s not worth it. I want to know that these shorts can be worn day, night, summer or winter. Keeping key piece that stick to the comfort and usage theory is the start to building a great and functional wardrobe.
