The JCK Las Vegas show wrapped up this past June displaying and showcasing upcoming new and exciting trends. The first standout trend that caught my attention is the modern pearls. Being a local girl from Hawaii, I’ve always loved and worn pearls. I would wear them all the time, but sometimes when we think of pearls we are often reminded of the stigma that this style belonged to the time of our grandmothers past, giving it an old and uptight image. This new trend report defies that, creating new and exciting designs incorporating modern and edgy designs. These are some of the pieces I’m absolutely in love with and could see myself wearing on a daily basis.
It is encouraging to see pearls become modern and easily wearable everyday for women of any age. I won’t be afraid to pair and accent my outfits with these pieces, giving me a touch of class in a modern age.
The second Jewelry trend I was drawn to is the Exotic Journey. This trend mixes warm yellow gold’s, with bright and vibrant gemstones intricately set in designs found around the world. I’m attracted to this trend because I love the design and details of these pieces. Reminding me of a time where Grecian goddesses would wear these type of Jewels, the modern take and simplicity of each piece would be sure to accent an outfit perfectly.
Fashion and style means expressing ourselves through our own personal taste. This taste is always evolving and changing when new trends and styles emerge. I believe Jewelry is such a personal decision. JCK provides us a space to look for these new and upcoming trends, keeping you one step ahead of the crowd, making you and your jewels standouts with the latest and best.

I recently attended a Barre class that was sponsored by Empowered by You, and given a free pair of underwear. Empowered by You is an undergarment company that believes that lingerie is used as a tool of empowerment instead of seduction. Their mission believes that what empowers you empowers other women. 20% of their net profit goes to empowering women out of poverty and into business via microfinance. You can check out their cause and products Here
So this got me thinking, what empowers me? Well the first thing that came into my mind were my kids. Their smiles, their laughs, their love, they are what makes me get up in the morning, get motivated, and want to better myself each day. But that’s not the only thing. Thinking more about it, I can think of many things that I’m empowered by.
Empowered by eating healthy
Empowered by staying fit
Empowered by my family
Empowered by my work
Empowered by the beach
Empowered by those who inspire me
We are all empowered by something. Remember what makes you happy, keeps you going, and gets you motivated. Sometimes we forget to take a look at ourselves to give ourselves the care and compassion we all deserve. So now I’ll ask you, what empowers you?
Thanks to Xtendbarre by the sea, and Empowered by you for the great panties! They are perfect!
Today I’m reflecting on my blogging experience since creating This Love Life 6 months ago, what I’ve learned, and what I look forward to.
First, let me start off by saying that these past 6 months have flown on by and have been non-stop ever since. At the start of this year, I decided it was time to get back to my creative side. While keeping my kids and family at the top of my priority, blogging has allowed me to do just that by allowing me to work on ‘my’ set time, and share my loves and discoveries throughout my life.
I’ve learned the world of blogging is a huge platform, with many fishes in the sea. I’m not trying to be famous, I’m not trying to be popular, and I’m not doing this for anyone else but myself. I'm simply a wife, mom, and fashion and beauty enthusiast who wants to share all that I love with others. I was hesitant in the beginning, but I’ve come to learn that I truly enjoy blogging. From discovering new products, raving about my staple wardrobe items, and discovering a developing artistic eye, blogging is just more that writing down thoughts on a computer screen. The best investment to date to help me with my content is a camera. Capturing images on a high resolution, professional grade camera, has made a huge difference. It’s even brought out my husband’s creative side (who is the photographer for a majority of my photos), which is exciting and great to see.
I’m still young in my blogging journey and still have a lot to learn, but since starting, it’s been amazing to see and connect with other bloggers from an array of different backgrounds. I look forward to working with fellow bloggers, building relationships, discover new products, and excited to see where this will take me. I’m grateful for the opportunities that have arisen from this journey and will continue to produce my best for readers, my subscribers and myself!
Cuts and scrapes are bound to happen, especially when you have active toddlers like I do! It’s in a kids DNA to run, skip, and hop everywhere. Well with that comes the scratches and bumps most kids endure during their early years. With the help of me4kidz, a line that includes a kid friendly first aid kit, I’m able to patch up my kids tear free, quickly and safely.
A family owned and operated business; me4kidz purpose is to provide us parents and caregivers a functional, fun, and modern way to patch up those everyday injuries simple and fast. I’ve owned a few items from their line and can attest that their fun silly printed Band-Aids really help the tears go away quick! The best part of their kit is their stickers! The images match the Band-Aid, so while I’m quickly trying to patch up my child’s injury, they’re distracted and excited to pick their sticker out.
I always keep a pack of these in my kids snack bag and my car. I can’t tell you how many times having this kit has come in handy and have helped wiped the tears away. I’m able to patch them up quick and fast, getting them back out there to enjoy the day! They even have a convenient travel friendly case that is easy to slip into any baby bag! Shopping for good nutritious groceries at an affordable price can be quite challenging. Times have changed and so has our food and how it is made. Now as a mother, I take the responsibility to prepare well-balanced meals for my family, but sometimes find it challenging to find foods with more of the good than bad. When the opportunity was given to me to shop at ALDI, a new grocery store to the southern California area, I was excited to see what was in store for me.
Let me start off by saying that this shopping experience is unique in that ALDI stores are quite small and intimate compared to a national grocery chain. It didn’t feel overwhelming or cluttered; instead it felt like a small local grocery store with bright lights and easily accessible shelves. I was a little nervous about the size, thinking they wouldn’t carry a lot of the things I was looking for, but I was wrong. I got exactly everything I needed, and then some. They even carried seasonal non-grocery items!
Glancing around at the products on the shelf, I began to notice a trend. A lot of the products were labeled as Organic, Non GMO, or Gluten free. ALDI has its own SimpleNature® brand that occupied a good amount of the shelves, which offers good for you products, keeping out those pesky hormones and processed food. I have never bought anything gluten free really because of the price, but to my surprise, a lot of the products were affordable, giving me the opportunity to try them out.
In this shopping trip, I was able to purchase fresh produce, fruit, dairy, milk, meat, pasta, bread, and even some snacks and ice cream for my kids. I experienced shopping for high quality ingredients at a low affordable cost. My shopping haul, with the intention to feed 6 people, was under $50!
The check out process is quite different than a normal grocery store. Firstly, it’s encouraged for you to bring your own reusable bags or can purchase their bags. Instead of the cashier putting it in a bag for you right away, you are asked to move over to the bagging area, and pack up your goods on a side table after you have paid. I found this to be interesting and actually quite liked it. It gave me the time to pack my own bags, and making sure everything was packaged to my liking, knowing where everything is.
It makes me excited to share my experience with ALDI, simply because we are now able to shop Organic, Gluten free, high quality items for an affordable cost. The meal was a great hit with everyone! Both of my kids asked for seconds, and that rarely happens, so I know it must have been good.
ALDI does not focus on the high cost of shopping marketing by placing fancy ads or lure you into a loyalist card. Instead, I can see they cut these costs by providing a simple shopping experience, which puts the money back into the products, keeping the cost low for consumers. I would rather shop low cost quality goods.
All 25 new stores are now open in the Southern California. Check their website out here https://www.aldi.us/ to find a store near you. I am pleasantly surprised and highly recommend ALDI for those who are looking for high quality products, at a low affordable cost.
